Southern Seminary accomplishes its mission by preparing ministers for a lifetime of faithfulness. This is done primarily through the 84 credit-hour master of divinity degree. The foundation of Southern’s MDiv is a core of 21 credit hours in each of these areas:

The Master of Arts in Theological Studies at SBTS is a 48-credit hour degree program, primarily for those in lay leadership, that can be completed in two years.

For ministers seeking advanced theological training for practical ministry, or to serve Christ in a teaching or research setting, Southern Seminary offers the Th.M. D.Min, D.Miss, D.Ed.Min, Ed.D, and Ph.D.
