The mission of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping students to serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission. Located in historic Wake Forest, North Carolina and founded in 1950, Southeastern is an accredited, confessional Southern Baptist institution that offers world-class biblical and theological training and ministry preparation through certificate, graduate degree, and advanced degree options.

Known for its Great Commission focus, Southeastern champions Jesus’ final marching orders (Matt 28:19-20) and aims to make God’s Kingdom vision of every nation, tribe, people, and language worshiping Christ together a reality on our campus and in our churches (Rev 7:9).

Southeastern offers a variety of master’s programs, including an accelerated MDiv; a Master of Arts in Marital, Family, and Individual Counseling that meets North Carolina state licensure requirements; and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies conferred by our college for ease of security for missionaries in closed countries. For doctoral students, Southeastern’s PhD, EdD, and DMin programs equip students for faithful ministry in any context — from professorships to counseling practices, Bible translation work to pastoral ministry, international missions to church revitalization.
